Martin Malii-Karlsson is a serial entrepreneur, originally from Sweden and based in London since 2020. He has 15+ years of starting and running successful businesses. Martin has been an international advisor to several startups in technology, supporting the ventures in communication, writing pitch decks, business planning, product development, team building, sales and marketing, fundraising and introductions to his well established industry network.

Most recently, together, with his business partner Ghilaine Chan in BLaO, he mentored female founder Aniela Hoitink and her startup MycoTEX over a 6 months period, as part of the EU funded WEAR SUSTAIN project. As a result of the mentoring Aniela has now a clear vision and plan on how to grow her business. She recently won the Global Change award by H&M and received €150.000 in grants for her MycoTEX project. Martin has since its inception being a Tech London Advocate, (TLA), an unrivalled collection of tech leaders, experts and investors uniting to form the most influential independent, private sector group in London. He initiated Crossover Nordic, in 2020, an innovation lab for apps and games, funded by 9 Nordic partners and mentored by Frank Boyd, BBC innovation lab, Heather Croall, Sheff/Doc, Paula Le Dieu, BFI, Neil Richards, The Mustard company and Jason Daponte, BBC mobile. The lab generated 81 new project ideas and 5 were shortlisted for awards.

Martin Co-founded and ran BLaO Entertainment, for 8 years. BLaO became a successful entertainment company with several Grammy awards, radio hits and major deals within the media industry. Martin directed and mentored award winning international talents to become best selling artists. As well as helping other Founders to start and grow, Martin is building a small portfolio of startups under his own company BLaO, www.blao.co. Companies includes Scandinavian Loft and Trustbrand Global, www.trustbrand.com, which recently was nominated startup of the year by World Innovation forum in Zürich and is planning to raise a £1M seed cap later this year.
