Lara is a passionate B2B Communications and Partnership Development leader and payments expert. Lara spent 15 years at Visa, the largest global payment scheme, holding roles in areas as diverse as ecommerce, regulatory compliance, data security and global partnership marketing. Her most frequent remit in all of these areas has been stakeholder/B2B engagement and communications. Lara combines a creative flair with business sense and has a passion for taking on the next big thing.
Lara was part of the team tasked with supporting the birth of ecommerce in Europe. Selling to banks the early Visa authentication solutions, developing ecommerce dispute rules, developing education programmes to reduce consumer disputes were all parts of her remit. She was then asked to lead the introduction to European markets of the Visa global data security programme to fight cybercrime. She worked at senior level with retail banks, UK and European retailers, marketing and sponsorship agencies, security consultancies, public sector and trade bodies in the UK and Europe, and was the Visa Europe spoke person on data security.
In 2010 she joined the global partnerships team. Her remit was planning and delivery of the European B2B marketing programmes to activate Visa’s global partnership agreements with the IOC and FIFA (2012 London Olympics, 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and finally the 2014 FIFA World Cup) to a world-class standard.
She then took a career break and became a full-time investor, before co-founding her own consultancy. Lara is now a Business and Marketing Partner at We Marketing, an international hub of senior marketers, where she relishes the opportunity to collaborate with disruptive companies that aspire to become the next market leaders
Lara has always been generous with her time. She is a keen mentor and an active volunteer in the local community. She has mentored charities and volunteered as partnership advisor to Broomwood Football Club, a grassroots football team which went on to win awards at national level. She leads Broomwood’s Girls’ Football competitive section, acting as their FA representative.
